Vogue Furniture is a family owned concern headed by Mrs Neelam Mawaz, who
started the company in 1983 to cater to the need for quality furniture and
accessories in Pakistan. Mrs Mawaz is an interior designer by training who
graduated from the prestigious International School of Interior Design in
Washington D.C.
The Vogue manafacturing base is in Lahore, Pakistan and has retails outlets
in most of the major cities in Pakistan including Islamabad, Lahore and
Karachi. It is a fully integrated unit where the furniture is made from the
start till the end. Quality control checks are made at each stage of
manufacture to ensure quality and consistency of design, which is Vogue's
hallmark.
The company employs over 200 craftsmen and artisans of the highest caliber.
Some of them have inherited their art from their forefathers whose skill is
so amply reflected in the Moghul architecture and artifacts. The company's
artisans are specially skilled in the art of wood carpentry, hand carving,
naqashi (hand painting), coloured and natured wood inlay marquetry, brass
and mother of pearl inlay and different polish and painted finishes.
Vogue manufactures furniture primarily in sheesham (indigenous wood
belonging to the rosewood family with a dark brown hue and fine grains),
walnut and acacia. The wood is bought directly from government auctions and
is carefully selected by experts to ensure that the best lot of trees is
bought which is naturally aged/dried and has large girths. The company also
has its own wood seasoning facility. As earlier stated Vogue has outlets
in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi and boasts of a large
varied range of quality conscious clientele whose loyalty has been
maintained over a period of twenty-five years. Vogue is also a regular
exporter of furniture to China, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia and has expatriate
clientele from all over the world including the UK, US and the Middle East.
